『全ビルマ学生民主戦線』
１９８８年、民主化を叫び非暴力運動を展開した
ビルマ（ミャンマー）の学生たち。
彼らを待ち受けていたのは、国軍が無差別に発砲した銃弾でした。
犠牲者は数千人を超えたといわれています。
言論が武力で封じ込まれたのです。
多くの仲間を失った学生たちは、隣国タイとの国境地帯へ避難し
ＡＢＳＤＦ（＝全ビルマ学生民主戦線）を結成、
現在もビルマの軍事政権打倒を叫び闘っています。
取材：1989年、1990年、1995年。
余談：ビルマ（ミャンマー）取材はＡＰＦ通信社の原点です。
1989年、山路徹が家庭用小型ビデオカメラで初めて
取材した現場だからです。
当時、テレビ局の技術部門は画質の低さにクレームをつけ、
放送に難色を示しました。
結果的には画質を超える内容があると判断され、
放送することが出来ましたが、今では考えられないことです。
