悲劇の銃撃事件から3年……追悼展示＆トークショー開催
ミャンマーで殉職した長井健司さんの追悼イベント開催　
話題のジャーナリストも続々登場
　2007年9月27日、ミャンマーでの反政府デモを取材中に、軍の兵士に銃撃されて亡くなった長井健司さん。銃弾に倒れてもなお、取材中のビデオカメラを握り締めていた壮絶な映像は、今でも多くの人の記憶の中にあることだろう。あれから3年がたった今でも、事件の真相は明らかにされず、ビデオカメラも返却されていない――。

　その長井さんを追悼し、事件を風化させず、また命に代えてでも果たせなければならなかったジャーナリズムの意義を再確認してもらうべく、長井さんが所属していた独立系ニュース通信社・APF通信社が、「追悼・長井健司記者　映像・遺品展＆トークショー」を10月1～3日に開催する。長井さんが遺した取材映像や遺品などを展示する予定だ。また、最終日の3日には戦場ジャーナリストの渡部陽一氏のトークショーも行われる。
　同イベントに関して、APF通信社は「『誰も行かないところに、誰かが行かねばならない』が口癖だった長井記者。その徹底した現場主義に基づく取材は、世の中に多くの真実を伝え、時に多くの命を救ってきました。本展を通して、『長井記者が伝えたかったこと』をもう一度振り返り、『報道の使命とは何か』を社会全体に問い直す機会となることを願っています」とコメント。
　これに先駆け、命日である9月27日には、先日までアフガニスタンで拘束されていたジャーナリストの常岡浩介さんと、2004年にイラク戦争取材中に拘束された経験を持つフォトジャーナリストの郡山総一郎さんを迎えてのトークショーが行われる。テーマは「報道の使命とは～長井健司記者が伝えかったこと～」。
　長井さん同様、命がけで最前線で取材する男たちの生の声を聞く、貴重な機会となるだろう。
