第2回の受賞者は、軍事政権に報道の自由が制限される中、
同政権の非道を訴える内容の報道をしたことで現在も不当に逮捕・拘束されている
ビルマ人記者、ウィン・モウさん（48）とラ・ラ・ウィンさん（26）の二人。
授賞式では、逮捕・拘束されている本人らに代わって、タイを拠点に活動するビルマ人記者の仲間が
APF通信社から贈られた長井さんの顔写真入りの盾を受け取った。
