タイで「長井賞」授賞式 ミャンマー人女性記者に
タイで「長井賞」授賞式 ミャンマー人女性記者に 【チェンマイ（タイ北部）21日共同】ミャンマーで二〇〇七年九月、反政府デモを取材中に治安部隊に射殺された映像ジャーナリスト長井健司さん＝当時（50）＝の精神を受け継ぐため創設された「長井健司記念賞」の第一回授賞式が二十一日、タイ北部チェンマイで行われた。
受賞者は、軍事政権に報道の自由が制限される中、危険を冒して昨年の大型サイクロン被災者の窮状を伝えようとしたミャンマー人女性記者、エイン・カイン・ウーさん（24）。同年六月に最大都市ヤンゴンで取材中に拘束され、禁固二年の実刑判決を受け服役中のため、幼なじみでタイを拠点に活動する女性記者、マ・ス・モンさん（30）が代わりに記念品を受け取った。
マ・ス・モンさんは「彼女を誇りに思う。被災者を支援しただけなのに禁固二年の刑を受け、今日ここに来られないのが非常に残念だ」と、贈られた長井さんの顔写真入りの盾を手に語った。
同賞は昨年十月、軍政の圧政下で真実の報道に貢献したジャーナリストを支援しようと、国外で活動するミャンマー人記者の団体「ビルマメディア協会」（ＢＭＡ、本部オスロ）が創設。ＢＭＡのマウン・マウン・ミン代表は「長井さんの勇気を忘れない」と述べ、約九十人の出席者が一分間の黙とうをささげた。
