『長井健司記者が命懸けで伝えたミャンマー民主化運動は今』
ミャンマーとの国境の町、タイ北西部に位置するメソト。
軍事政権の弾圧から逃れたミャンマー人が、この町に多く移り住んでいる。
去年９月の反政府デモから１年。
ミャンマーの民主化運動は現在どうなっているのだろうか…。

アウン・サン・スー・チー氏が率いる政党「ＮＬＤ（国民民主連盟）」のメソト事務所。
軍事政権の迫害から逃れてきた議員や党員らが祖国の民主化を願い、
地道な活動を続けていた。
かつてスーチー氏のボディーガードを務めたNLD議員はこう訴える。
「私たちは今でも軍事政権による酷い迫害を受けています。
軍事政権は私たちの経済活動や社会活動を一切許さず、
いろいろな方法を用いて妨害をしています」

人権団体の「政治囚支援協会（AAPP）」には、
政治犯として収容された民主化活動家らの写真が飾られていた。
AAPPによると、現在のミャンマーでは、約２０００人の民主化活動家が獄中にあり、
足かせをつけられ、毎日のように殴る蹴るの暴行を受けているという。
軍事政権が続くミャンマーでは、
民主化運動をすることは逮捕・投獄、そして死を意味するのだという。

獄中にある民主化活動家らの写真の中に長井記者の遺影も飾られていた。
「日本国民同様に、私たちも悲しく思っています」

さらに、取材先で出会ったミャンマー人は皆、
「長井さんの死は自分の家族のように悲しく思っている」と涙する。
ミャンマー人の心の中に生き続ける長井記者。
その命と引き替えに、あまり知られていなかったミャンマーの実態を伝えてくれた。

先月26日の放送に引き続き、近日、日本テレビ「NEWS ZERO」において、
タイ・ミャンマー国境取材の模様を２回にわたって、シリーズで放送する予定です。

What you said made a lot of sense. But, think about this, what if you added a little content? I mean, I dont want to tell you how to run your blog, but what if you added something to maybe get peoples attention? Just like a video or a picture or two to get people excited about what youve got to say. In my opinion, it would make your blog come to life a little bit.
