ＡＦＰ通信によると、ヤンゴン近郊のインセイン刑務所内の法廷で１１日に禁固６５年が言い渡された２３人は、８８年の民主化運動の中心だった元学生活動家たちとされ、昨年９月のデモにもかかわり拘束されていた。
そのほかにも、反軍政活動家のスー・スー・ヌエイさんには１１日に禁固１２年半、詩人のソー・ウェイさんにも１０日に同２年が言い渡された。
